At a glance
Xayra processes voice notes, transcripts, searches and AI answers on your Android phone. Xayra does not send that personal content to a remote AI service or use advertising or usage analytics. Optional Google Drive, Google Calendar and Premium subscription features involve the service providers described below.
1. Notes and on-device processing
Voice recognition, search and answers operate on your phone. Your notes, questions, transcripts and to-dos are not sent to a developer-operated server or a remote AI provider. Xayra downloads AI models when needed from Cloudflare and Hugging Face. Like other downloads, those services may receive technical request information such as your IP address and device information.
2. Storage and security
Newer versions of Xayra store notes and to-dos in an encrypted database in the app’s private storage. Older Xayra versions used different storage protections; existing files or backups from those versions may remain until removed. An export you save as a text file is not encrypted by Xayra. Uninstalling the app generally removes its local app data, so keep a verified backup if you want to preserve your notes.
3. Optional Google services
If you connect Google Drive, Xayra uses a private application-data folder to store backups in your own Google account. Backup and restore actions occur when you request them. If you connect Google Calendar and send a to-do, Xayra sends the information needed to create or manage that calendar event. Xayra receives and displays the name and email address of the Google account you connect. Your Google Drive account may differ from the Google Play account used for purchases.
4. Backup protection and recovery
Standard Protection: Backups are encrypted, but the information needed to restore them is also stored in your Google account’s Xayra app data. Someone with sufficient access to that account data may be able to open those backups.
Extra Privacy: You can optionally protect your backups with a recovery code that is not uploaded to Google Drive. Your phone can retain a locally protected key for each connected account that uses Extra Privacy. If you lose the recovery code and have no device that can open a protected backup, it may be impossible to recover that backup, including through Xayra support.
Turning Extra Privacy off: You can choose Standard Protection for future backups. Older Extra Privacy backups remain protected. If you have forgotten your recovery code but can still access your notes on your phone, you can start new Standard backups of those local notes. These new backups do not include notes that exist only in locked backups. Switching Google accounts does not automatically transfer backups between accounts.
5. Xayra Premium subscriptions
Xayra Premium is optional. Recording new notes, Ask, hands-free use, creating to-dos and sending to Google Calendar require Premium. You can continue to access and manage existing notes if Premium ends.
Google Play handles subscription purchases and payment details. Xayra does not receive your card or bank details. Xayra uses RevenueCat to validate subscriptions and provide Premium access. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app customer identifier and subscription-related information such as the purchased plan, price, currency, purchase dates, trial status and renewal status, as well as limited technical information needed to operate the service. Xayra does not send RevenueCat your notes, recordings, transcripts, questions, to-dos or backups.
Xayra disables RevenueCat’s automatic device-identifier collection and diagnostics in its SDK configuration and does not set customer attributes. Subscription information may be used to understand overall purchase and subscription counts; Xayra does not run usage analytics or advertising.
Subscription plans, trial eligibility and renewal prices are shown before purchase through Google Play. You can cancel or manage a subscription in Google Play. Canceling stops future renewals, but access generally continues until the end of the current entitlement period. Restoring purchases in Xayra checks your existing entitlement; it does not restart a canceled subscription or create a new payment.
Subscription identifier backup. When you have a subscription, RevenueCat may store Xayra’s random anonymous subscription identifier in Google’s Block Store on your phone. This helps reconnect your subscription after reinstalling Xayra or moving to another Android phone. It contains no notes, recordings, email address or Google account identifier. If device backup is enabled, Google may also include this identifier in your Google account’s device backup. The identifier may remain after uninstalling Xayra.
6. Your choices and deletion
You can disconnect optional Google connections, delete local notes, export your notes and remove Xayra’s hidden backup data through Google Drive’s app-data controls. Deleting local data does not automatically delete copies previously backed up or exported. Disconnecting Google Drive does not itself delete backups in that account.
You can request deletion of your RevenueCat subscription record. This does not itself erase the identifier retained by Google Block Store or in a Google device backup. Removing those copies may require managing or deleting your Google device backup, or resetting the device; doing so may affect other data, so do not take these steps solely to remove this identifier without understanding the consequences.
For questions about subscription records or requests concerning data processed by RevenueCat, email support@xayra.org. We may ask for enough information to locate a purchase, such as a Google Play order reference, but we will not request your payment card details or Extra Privacy recovery code.
7. Permissions
Depending on the features you use, Xayra may request microphone, notifications, biometric authentication, internet access, Google Drive app-data access, Google Calendar permissions and Google Play Billing. Xayra does not request access to your advertising ID.
8. Children
Xayra is not directed at children.
9. Changes and contact
We will update this policy when our practices change and update the date shown above. For questions about privacy or your data, contact support@xayra.org.
